Goodbye

Heyyo, it's been a long time since I last snuck into the publishing room to sneak a floof written piece into ZDP, but with Discord becoming sketchier and the chances of losing contact with friends and other members of the community, I thought it was time to say goodbye. So this is me, Off-Brand AKA Phaelan, saying goodbye… 
 
 
…To everybody we’ve lost over the years. (Sorry for baiting you like that. >~<) But really, we lose contact with so many people daily that there's no guarantee everyone will be here tomorrow, and reflecting on that, I guess that's also true about life… but I'm not sneaking in here to get depressed! I'm here to say goodbye to those who have left in my own floofy way.
 
 
I’ve been debating putting something similar to this article up on my website for a while now. I’ve seen so many people come and go in my life and that's not just the 2-3 years I've been in the community so far, and especially with those I can no longer contact, I always want to tell them that even if they are gone that I always have an ear open for people to talk to me even after they’ve “officially departed”. Recently, I watched one of my close friends take a step away from the community, and a little pit formed in my stomach when I realized I may have missed my chance to say goodbye, so this is my article to broadcast to everyone who's already left or may leave in the future. Speaking of which, I’m working on getting a more reliable way to contact me outside of all the big platforms. So if you only rely on Discord, matrix, Twitter, or any other social space like that, I’d recommend that you fortify your connections across one or two more different points so you don't ever get cut off. I’m not experienced enough to offer any helpful suggestions just yet, but there are plenty of people who can give you pointers in the community!
 
 
Anyway, before Tarro finds me in the article room and I get conscripted to write any more articles, here's my goodbye.
 
 
I hope that everyone knows that I’m truly glad to have been part of the community, and I’m glad we got to share some good times together. To those who may think no one thinks about them or will notice they are gone. I promise you that you will be missed and that I will think about you ever so often. I can’t promise that I’ll remember your name or everything we did perfectly, but I’ll tell you that I still remember people from two years ago that I only interacted with every so often in the original ZDP discord. I still have their pet gifs sitting on my website in the little chance they ever find it, so they know my paws are still there to offer my little show of online affection even after all this time.
 
 
I wish y'all luck wherever your future takes you. Maybe you never return, maybe we meet again. Whatever happens, just know this floof supports you (as long as it's good stuff. Don’t do evil things, please). I hope you and your partners succeed and find happiness. You are all so cool, and even if you don’t feel safe to stay in the community for whatever reason, you are still cool for even dipping your toes into the community to see that you aren’t alone. The community may not always be here, and friends come and go, but I won't forget y'all. I’ll do my best to take y'all along with me on my journey, so I hope you'll do the same for me and any of your friends. So goodbye, my friends, I'll keep on keeping on while keeping your memories alive. Thanks for being here.
In this ever-changing internet space, we don't get to say proper farewells, and who knows what tomorrow will bring. So this is my little tribute to all those who came before us, and all those who will stand in our future. It was nice to meet y'all, and I hope that you cross paths with my floof again somewhere, somehow, my fellow zoops. Stay zooey, stay defiant!
